Living

The second page features an imaginary butterfly with one natural wing and one artificial iron wing. Despite its hopeful title, its body is built from sharp-edged skulls, while its hands hold an IV needle. Iron wires and a foggy layer over the wisteria create a cold, morose vibe. Yet the central wing, created with Procreate and Adobe Photoshop, glows with vibrant colors, almost reviving from illness. The plants—wisteria, spider lily, marigold, forget-me-not, grass, and wood—symbolize death, rebirth, endurance, or longevity. I digitally created the living wing, but hand-built the artificial one with bent wire (intentionally smoothed out into swirls) and overlaid acrylic markers over the plants, suggesting how medical technology extends life by modifying our own bodies.
