Undersea Cave

The first page depicts Gilgamesh chasing immortality after Enkidu’s death forces him to confront his own mortality. Good news: he finds the plant of immortality. Bad news: while he showers before eating it, a snake steals the plant. Gilgamesh ultimately returns home, accepting both kingship and his destined death. I focused on pure colors and directional light. Enkidu’s conversation with Gilgamesh appears on the cave wall in clay-yellow tones, giving it an ancient, oracle-like feeling. I created Gilgamesh, the snake, and grass digitally in Procreate, then collaged them into the scene. Simple colors and geometric forms create an “initial” feeling, marking the project’s beginning.
